Brandon Goff (b.1973) With a voice that obscures genre and remixes tradition the music of Brandon Goff is often dramatic and always distinctive. Goff has been the recipient of numerous awards and commissions, including the Arnold Sallop Prize for Composition, the Smit Award, the ASU Graduate Composer Award, and Lantana Best in Show. Additionally, he was named a finalist in the BMG Young Composers Competition and the ASCAP Morton Gould competition. 2016 saw the world premiere of the new choral symphony "It is Well, A Healing Suite" by the Florence Symphony Orchestra and Masterworks choir commissioned by McLeod Health Care in honor of the 110th anniversary.  The new musical "Bestill" by D. Keith Best and Brandon Goff was premiered and the cast recording is forthcoming.  In 2017 the new piano trio "Electronica 1" was premiered in a open recording session for the South Carolina Chamber Music Festival and the popular electric guitar concerto "Full on Rumble"  was performed by the composer and the Jāzepa Medīņa Rīgas Mūzikas vidusskolas pūtēju orķestris in Riga, Latvia. Goff's music has been performed by such notable groups as Ensemble Roar, The Balkan Quartet, The Los Angeles DC8, The University of Landau Concert Band, Cellist Craig Hulgren and The Bruchsal Jazz Orchestra.  Goff's music is regularly performed throughout the United States and Europe. Holding both a B.M. and M.M. from Arkansas State University, Goff earned his D.M.A. from the University of Memphis where his principle instructors included Kamran Ince, John Baur, Jared Spears, and Tom O'Connor.  

 

Along with his accomplishments as a composer, Goff is also a prolific performer and producer. As the owner of Poppsycho Studios, he has innumerable production credits to his name. Recent projects have included Kyle Thomas/ Not Alone and Doug Pierce/ This Time of Year, both on Loop Road Records.

 

Goff has performed and toured world-wide with the pop group Pierce, with whom he produced and released numerous albums. Goff is also the co-founder and co-owner of Poppsycho Records, a Memphis-based independent record label.


Goff is currently on faculty at Francis Marion University where he serves as Associate Professor of Music Industry.
